How to Register EPF Complaint Online?
The PF members can freely register EPF grievance online on the EPF Grievance website. Here, you can file a complaint and also track the status of your complaint.
On this platform, you can register EPF grievance for multiple PF numbers available in a single UAN. You can also upload more than one grievance document.
PF complaints can be lodged at any place and will land in concerned EPFO office to which the complaints pertain.
EPF i-Grievance Management System
The EPF i-Grievance Management System is a dedicated website of EPFO where PF members can register EPF grievance online. EPF members can also know the status and send reminders for pending complaints on this portal.
The EPF grievance website can be used by PF member, EPS Pensioner, Employer, and Others. They need to login on the EPFiGMS portal to file a complaint. The interface is now bilingual (Hindi and English).
Grievances that can be registered on EPFiGMS
You can register complaints related to the following issues on the EPF i-Grievance Management System.
2. Transfer of PF account
3. Issues related to KYC (Know Your Customer)
4. Employees’ Pension Scheme certificate or Form 10C
5. Issues regarding the PF balance
6. If a cheque returned/misplaced
7. Settlement of pension
8. Issues related to Insurance payment

Prerequisite to register EPF Grievance Online
You must keep your UAN number handy to register your PF complaint. However, you can also file your complaint by selecting the “Others” option if you do not have the UAN / PPO Number/ Establishment Number.
If you are an EPS pensioner, then you need to provide your PPO number to file a grievance.
Process to Register EPF Complaint Online
The step-by-step procedure to register EPF grievance online at PF Grievance website is mentioned below.
1. Visit the EPF i-Grievance Management System website (https://epfigms.gov.in/).
2. Click on the “Register Grievance” option from the top menu to register EPF complaint online.
3. Select one of the options against the “Status” section, whether you are a PF Member, EPS Pensioner, Employer, or Others. Select “Others” in case you do not have UAN / PPO Number/ Establishment Number.
4. To file a complaint related to your PF account, select status as “PF member”.
5. Next, enter your UAN (Universal Account Number) and the security code. Click on the “Get Details” tab.
6. The system will show your name, UAN, email ID, and mobile number on the screen as shown in the image below.
7. Next, click on the “Get OTP” tab. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP sent to your mobile number. Click on the “Submit” tab.
8. Now, you need to enter personal details. Once personal details entered, choose the relevant PF account number.
9. Here, select what the grievance is related to, and the grievance category under which the grievance falls. Next, enter the grievance description in under 5000 characters.
10. Next, upload any relevant documents to clarify the issue. You can upload this by clicking on the “Choose Files” and then “Attach”.
11. Enter the Captcha code and click on the “Submit” tab.
12. Once submitted, you will receive a unique registration number. These details also will be sent to your registered email ID and on your mobile via SMS.
13. The EPFO will verify it before sending it to the relevant department for resolution.
14. It usually takes up to 15-30 days to get it resolved.
Notable points:
1. You need to upload the relevant documents in the PDF format with a maximum size of 1MB to clarify the issue.
2. Additionally, you can check the status of the grievance online using the registration number.
Process to check your EPF Grievance Status
Once your complaint is filed, you can check the status of the complaint online on the EPF Grievance portal. Follow the step-by-step procedure mentioned below to track the status of your complaint online.
1. Visit the official website page (https://epfigms.gov.in/).
2. Click on the “View Status” option from the top menu to track your EPF complaint.
3. Enter the “Registration Number” that you received at the time of registering your EPF complaint.
4. Next, enter the “Grievance Password” if your grievance lodged in the earlier version of the website. If registered in the new version of the website, then enter mobile number or email ID.
5. Fill the “Security Code” as you see it on the screen. Click on the “Submit” tab to proceed.
6. The status of the complaint will be displayed on your computer screen. Here, you can also find the regional EPFO office and the name of the officer dealing with your complaint.
Process to send reminder about EPF Complaint
If your PF grievance has not been resolved on time, then you can send a reminder on the EPFiGMS portal. Note that you can send a reminder only after 30 days of registration of the complaint. The step-by-step procedure to send a reminder to EPFO to get it resolved is mentioned below.
1. Visit the EPF Grievance website (https://epfigms.gov.in/).
2. Click on the “Send Reminder” option from the top menu to send a reminder about the PF complaint.
3. Here, enter the “Registration Number” that you received at the time of registering your PF complaint.
4. Next, enter Grievance Password or mobile number/email ID.
5. Next, enter the reminder description.
6. Fill the “Security Code” as you see on the screen.
7. Click on the “Submit” tab. A reminder of your complaint will be sent to the relevant department.
