State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest public-sector lender, has provided some facilities for the usage of SBI ATM card or Debit card more secure. In this post, I will tell you how to make your SBI Debit card more secure.
Now you can manage usage of SBI ATM card or Debit card by setting SBI ATM card’s withdrawal limit and switching SBI ATM card On or Off. Limit the card usage through different channels like ATM Channel, POS Channel, and CNP Channel. Enable or disable Domestic usage and International usage via SBI internet banking.

How to make SBI Debit Card more secure
SBI has provided some facilities for the usage of the SBI Debit card more secure via the SBI website. You can avail the following services:
1. Change Daily Limit
2. You can change Channel Type
3.Change Usage Type
To avail, these facilities follow the steps given below.
1. Go to the SBI official website (https://www.onlinesbi.com/) and login to your SBI account using your user ID and password.
2. Go to the “e-Services” tab on the dashboard and click on the “ATM Card Services” option.
3. Click on the “ATM Card Limit/Channel/Usage Change” option.
4. If you have more than one SBI account then select the account for which you want these services. If you have only one account then it is already selected. Click on the continue tab.
5. Here you can see all the ATM cards or Debit cards linked to your SBI account.
6. Select the card on which you want these services.
7. In the select services drop-down menu you can see three options: Change Daily Limit, Change Channel Type and Change Usage Type.
8. Select an option that you want to change or modify as per your choice.

Change Daily Limit of SBI Debit Card
1. Select the “Change Daily Limit” option from the select services drop-down menu. Here you will find two sub-options ATM Limit and POS/CNP Limit.
2. Select the ATM Limit option and click on the Submit tab.
3. Here, you can see your ATM’s current limit. ATM Daily Limit means you can withdraw up to that amount in a day. Enter your desired new ATM limit. Keep in mind that the limit should be in multiple of 5000 only. Click on the Submit button.
4. You will receive a high-security password on your registered mobile number. Enter the password and click on the Submit tab.
5. After submitting you will see a confirmation message as “Selected Card Limit has been modified successfully”. Now you can withdraw only up to the new limit in a day.
You can also modify the POS/CNP limit in the same way as we did for ATM Limit. POS means Point of Sale, such transactions which are done at retail merchants by swiping the card. CNP Means Card Not Present. In such transactions, cards need not be present there physically rather you need to provide the card details like online shopping transactions.
Change Channel Type of SBI Debit Card
1. Select the “Change Channel Type” option from the select services drop-down menu. Using this service, you can enable or disable the usage of any particular service. Click on Submit.
2. Here you will find three channels: ATM Channel, POS Channel, and CNP Channel.
3. Select ATM Channel. With this option, you can enable or disable your ATM. That means you can start and stop transactions through your ATM card.
4. Choose your required option and click Submit.
5. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the password and click on Submit.
6. After submitting you will see a confirmation message as “Selected Channel has been updated successfully”.
7. In the future whenever you want to start transactions through your ATM card, Select “Enable ATM Card”. Click the Submit tab and follow the process.
You can also enable or disable POS Channel and CNP Channels for your SBI ATM card or Debit card in the same way.
Change Usage Type of SBI ATM Card
1. Select Change Usage Type service from the select services drop-down menu.
2. Here you will see two usage types: Domestic Usage and International Usage.
3. If you disable the Domestic Usage, then you will not be able to use your card in India.
4. If you disable International Usage, then you will not be able to use your card outside the country.
5. You can re-enable these services, select the enable option.
