With all these advantages, the online banking frauds are increasing every day. The country’s largest bank State Bank of India, has introduced a new feature where you can lock SBI Net banking access to prevent frauds.

Lock SBI Net Banking
This facility is available for retail customers only. Corporate users cannot use this facility. SBI online banking website (www.onlinesbi.com) provides personal banking services. You can Lock or Unlock your INB access through “Lock & Unlock User” link available on the Home / Login Page for better control and security of your account.
When you lock your SBI Net banking account, your account gets disabled. However, you can unlock your SBI netbanking account whenever required using your profile password or via bank branch.
Therefore, you should write down your profile password on a paper and keep it safe before locking your SBI Net Banking. Please note that profile password is different from the login password.
How to lock SBI Net banking access?
Follow the below-mentioned steps to lock SBI Net banking access to prevent frauds:
1. First of all, visit the SBI official website (www.onlinesbi.com) to lock net banking access to your account.
2. Click on the “Lock & Unlock Users” link on the home and login page. It will open a new window.
3. On this page, select the option “Lock User Access” from the drop-down menu. Next, enter your details like SBI online banking username, account number, and captcha code. Click on the “Confirm” button.
4. Once all the required details are entered, a new message will appear on your screen. This is what the message says:
a) You can lock your internet access if you feel there is any unauthorized access/transaction being performed in your account.
b) The Standing Instructions and scheduled transactions if any set by you, will continue to be active and get executed as usual and there is no change in these processes.
c) By clicking on the “OK” tab, your online banking access will be locked and you will not be able to perform any Netbanking Transactions.
5. Click on the “OK” button if you agree to the above-mentioned conditions.
6. If you click on the “OK” option, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and email Id. If it is a Joint account, the OTP will be sent to the primary account holder’s mobile number.
7. Enter the received OTP and click on “Submit” button.
8. Once you enter the received OTP, your SBI netbanking access will be locked.
How to unlock SBI internet banking facility?
You can unlock SBI internet banking facility whenever required. You can unlock your SBI netbanking access either online using SBI bank website or via bank branch. Follow the below-mentioned steps to unlock your internet banking facility:
1. First of all, visit SBI website (www.onlinesbi.com) to unlock internet banking facility.
2. Click on the “Lock & Unlock Users” link on home/login page. It will open a new window.
3. On this new page, select the option “Unlock User Access” from the drop-down menu. Next, enter your details like online banking username, account number, and captcha code. Click on the “Confirm” tab.
4. Once all the details are entered, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and email Id.
5. Next, enter the OTP and click on “Submit” button.
6. Once you enter the received OTP, it will ask you whether you want to unlock internet banking access “Using Profile Password” or “Through Home Branch”.
7. Here, select “Through Profile Password” option. Now you need to enter your profile password and click on “Submit” tab. If you want to unlock your netbanking through a bank branch, then you need to visit your home branch and unlock it.
8. Once you enter your profile password, your SBI internet banking access will be unlocked.
