Below is the step by step procedure to update Email and Mobile No. in policies online.
1. Visit the official website of LIC on https://www.licindia.in
2. Click on “Update Your Contact Details” on the homepage.
Alternatively, you can click on “Customer Service” on the main menu. Next from the drop-down menu, select the “Update Your Contact details – Online” option.
3. This will open a new window as shown in the image below.
Fill Contact Details
4. Here, fill in your full name and date of birth as per the policy document that you are holding.
Next, enter your mobile no. then enter your email ID. Note that it is mandatory to provide your full name, date of birth, and mobile no.
Next, choose the number of policies you want to register your contact details in your policies online. You can register your contact details for a maximum of 10 policies at one time.
Check the declaration and click on the “Submit” tab.
Provide Policy Numbers
5. Next page, provide the policy numbers in the space provided.
The screen looks as shown in the image below. Here, I selected two policies. Hence, it is showing two options to enter policy numbers.
If you select more, then you will get more options to enter the policy numbers. Click on the “Validate Policy Details” tab.
Send Request
6. Once the name and date of birth in the policy records match with the details you provided. Then a successful message will pop up on the screen like in the image below.
Click on the “Send Request” tab to submit your request. Kindly note that requests will be generated only for policies showing Request-Status as Successful.
Note Down Request Number
7. After successful submission, the data entry successful message will pop up like below. The pop-up includes your “Request Number” and the “Request Date”.
You need to note down the request number for future use.
8. You will receive a verification call from the LIC Official to verify your phone number. You will also receive an email to your updated Email ID.
9. On verification, your contact information will be updated in the LIC database for future communication. Life Insurance Corporation of India will send a confirmation message (SMS) and email after the successful verification.
10. Using the same method, you can also update your old number with a new number. This is how to update mobile number in LIC policy online.
