How to stop cheque payment in SBI online using net banking
1. Go to SBI official website at https://www.onlinesbi.com/
2. Login using your Username and Password.
3. Now you have to click on the “Stop Cheque Payment” option under the “Request & Enquiries” section.
4. Next, you have to select your SBI Account Number from which your cheque has been issued.
5. Next, enter the cheque number you want to cancel. In case you have lost only one cheque then fill the same cheque number in start and end cheque number fields. If you have lost the whole cheque book then write the specific numbers in start and end cheque number fields.
6. Here you are required to select instrument type as “Normal Cheque” or “Multi City Cheque”.
7. Next, you need to specify the reasons for stopping the payment. You can select the reason from the drop-down list of reasons.
8. Click on check box “I accept the following Terms and Conditions”.
9. Next, click on the “Submit” button to proceed.
10. Your request will get displayed on the screen. You need to verify the details and click on the “Confirm” tab to place your request.
11. Once your request is placed, you will see the reference number along with other details on the screen.
How to cancel SBI cheque online using mobile banking
1. Login to your Yono Lite SBI App.
2. Once logged in, tap on the “Request” tab and then tap on “Cheque Book” option.
3. Next, you need to tap on “Stop Cheque / Revoke Stop Cheque Instruction” tab.
4. Here you need to select the radio button “Stop Cheque”.
5. Now you need to select the account number from the dropdown.
6. Next, enter the SBI cheque number you want to cancel. If you have lost only one cheque, fill the same cheque number in start and end cheque number fields. In case you have lost the whole cheque book, write the specific numbers in start and end cheque number fields.
7. Now select instrument type as “Normal Cheque” or “Multi City Cheque”.
8. Here specify the reasons for stopping the payment from the drop-down list of reasons.
9. Accept the Terms and Conditions by clicking on checkbox.
10. Next, click on the “Submit” tab.
11. Enter the OTP received on your mobile.
12. Once your request is placed, your requested cheque will be stopped.
Notable Points
Note that the functionality of the “Stop Cheque Payment” online facility is only available from 8 am to 8 pm.
The service charges for making the “Stop Cheque Payment” request online will be visible on the screen.
The service charges will be recovered from your SBI account separately.
You can stop multiple cheques at a time. You have to give the Start and End Cheque Number.
