UMANG App
UMANG is short form of Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance. The UMANG is a mobile application developed by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD).
It provides a single platform for all Indian citizens to access pan India e-Gov services. It allows you to avail various government services like Aadhaar, EPFO, ESIC, PAN, Digilocker, Gas booking, Electricity bill payment, Mobile bill payment, etc.
Where to get this app?
Download it on your smart phone by giving a missed call on 9718397183. It can also be downloaded from UMANG website or from the play/app stores such as Google Play, iTunes, and Window store.
How to download and register on UMANG App?
You can explore it on multiple types of channels such as a smartphone, tablet, and desktop.
1. First of all, download and install it on your smartphone through an app store. Open it and select the language.
2. Click on “NEW USER” and register using your mobile number. It will generate an OTP for verification.
3. Next set your MPIN. Here, it will also ask security questions for recovering your account.
4. Next, provide your Aadhaar details and profile information if you want or you can skip this step.
5. Done! Your registration is complete.
How to check PF Balance, download PF Passbook?
UMANG application allows you to check your EPF balance along with the deposits and withdrawals transactions for last one year. You can also download the complete passbook on your device. Here’s how you can view your EPF balance, download PF passbook.
Step 1
Open the app and log in using your mobile number. Now, locate the EPFO option and click on it.
Step 2
You will be directed to the EPFO page. Here you can see employee-centric services, employer-centric services, general services, pensioner services, and eKYC services. Click on “employee centric services” from the options to proceed further.
Step 3
Next page you can view three options: View passbook, raise the claim and track the claim. Click on “View Passbook” option to view your PF balance.
Step 4
Once clicked on the view passbook option, will be directed to the Login page. Here, you need to enter your active UAN (Universal Account Number) and then click on “Get OTP”. You will get an OTP on your mobile number registered with EPF account. Enter the received OTP and click on “Login” to proceed further. Note that you will have only two minutes to enter the OTP.
Step 5
Next screen, you can view the list of all your EPF accounts under your UAN. Choose and click on the account for which you want to check the EPF balance.
Step 6
Your EPF passbook displayed on the screen. Here, you can check your EPF balance along with the transactions (deposits and withdrawals) for last one year.
Step 7
At the bottom of this page, you also get an option to download the complete EPF passbook. In the EPF passbook, you can view your establishment ID & name, member ID & name, employee’s share, employer’s share, and pension contribution.
Final Thoughts
Now UMANG App allows you to check your EPF balance. It also allows you to view the deposits and withdrawals transactions for last one year. You can also download the complete passbook on your device.
